Technology serving Greek history and education. An innovative, inter national long distance program gives chance to students in every corner of the planet to communicate between them via Internet, to exchange knowledge, experiences and views for numerous subjects while learning with entertainment.

Schools from Greece, USA, Denmark, already participate in this project that abolish frontiers and different languages and unite students. The initiative to enforce the program in Greece belongs to director—producer of educational programs Tasos Rodopoulos who recognized the capabilities that OPEN (One planeteducation network) offers and applied it to Greek schools.

A few days ago the first pilot connection took place between the schools, and the students had a chance to talk live and at the same time with students from 6 schools in USA and Denmark.

The students observed the pilot program with the subjects “Ancient Mariners”, Socrates Trial, Thesseus and Minotaurus. Students watched the videos and then with the help of their teachers presented questions, answers and knowledge using the tele- conference systems, which allows one team to see another and speak live.

Students in 3 parts of the earth had also a chance to be introduced to the mythical world of underwater archeology by watching via computer of their schools the 3 sites of the islands of Kira Panagia of Skyros, Skopelos and the sunken city of Milos.

The experiences of students that participated in the project was very good and many other schools want to participate. Ancient Mariners will be broadcasted by PBS and will be distributed to schools that participate.
