OPEN Global Education Project: Jordan Jubilee School

The Minister of Education welcomed the OPEN international education project in which the Jubilee School is taking part.
He added while the Jubilee school represents the schools of Jordan in the meantime, he hoped other schools would have
this connection to OPEN in the future.
Dr. Jaradat gave a presentation on the Ministry's plans to update public schools with computers and said that a
thousand schools would be connected to the web within three years.
On his side, Dr. Jarwan said that contacts between the school, the Ministry, and the project's administrators began
before a year regarding OPEN and that connection is possible and available using the digital communication
systems which were provided recently in Jordan by Jordan Telecommunications Company.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Education welcomed the president of the international One Planet Education Network (OPEN)
along with Dr. Fathi Jarwan the principal of the Jubilee School. Dr. Izat Jerradat, the Minister of Education had received
Mr. George Newman, OPEN Founder and president.
Mr. Newman gave a presentation about the "Mariners of Greece and Near East Contemporaries" OPEN project which aims to
enable students from various countries and continents to be connected with each other using an up to date technology of
telecommunication, video connections and digital links.
Mr. Newman pointed that the ministry's projects would be viewed through out a session held by OPEN at the end of the month
from which students from the Jubilee School will present on the History of Petra and the Nabataeans to other international
students by live 2-way video via the digital networks systems.
