OPEN’s STEM Education Professional Development Workshops for Special Education Schools

OPEN’s STEM Education Professional Development Workshops for Special Education Schools Led by RSETF and Partners in Nigeria Concludes with an Uplifting Ceremony with Nigeria Education Officials and The US Embassy

Special education schools’ 25 teachers and 25 administrators were handed their graduation certificates and five of our new IoT STEM Education kits, for successful completion of our five day STEM workshop series, by Mr. Adnan Siddiqi, Counselor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy of Nigeria. Our partner the Royal School for Educational Therapy Foundation (RSETF) which led the program has worked tirelessly with their Nigerian Consulting Teams and OPEN for six months to deliver five full days of STEM professional teacher and administrator training workshops. Our new OPEN-RAK STEM IoT sensor kits were successfully assembled and disassembled by the 25 teachers, who learned about this fast-growing industry through hands-on STEM education. In the coming weeks IoT technologies for monitoring weather for local farms and school gardens and air quality sensors will be built, and next programmed and deployed by their special education students, giving them 21st century skills needed to secure rewarding careers in the ICT industry.
